Monthly Plans to Suit

Monthly health plans are a popular way to spread the cost of your cat’s preventative health care, but as all cats are different, a one-size-fits-all monthly plan did not seem to fit in with Vet2Cat’s core values and beliefs.

That is why we have come up with a range of monthly health plans to cover different cats’ lifestyles, ages and individual needs.

To some extent, as cats get older, they should move along from Paws Classic to Paws Extra to Paws Premium, (see table below) but you can decide what level of preventative health care you would prefer, no matter how old your cat is. We can advise you as to what plan we would recommend, for maximum cost efficiency.

If your cat needs even more regular check-ups, tests and medications, we can develop a customised plan just for your cat, to help spread the costs.

You have the option of adding on a discounted Parasite Package if you want to include a full 12 months’ supply of flea, tick and worming treatments.

You even have the option of having a Parasite Package Only for £11 per month, if you would prefer to pay-as-you-go for an annual visit and health check.

If you have more than one cat, you can receive a discount of £5 per cat per month for the second and subsequent cats, as long as they are all seen at the same visit – A large chunk of the cost of our home-visiting service is the call-out fee, but it is only applied once for every house visit – whether we see 1 cat or 10! (If additional cats need to be seen at separate visits they would not be eligible for the multi-cat discount).

Unique Aspects

Vet2Cat’s Purrfect Health Club Plans offer the following unique aspects:

  • Includes a home visit every 6 months to see your cat(s) in the comfort of their own environment
  • Our vets and nurses have advanced feline specific extra qualifications
  • Every visit is allocated 30 minutes per cat, which includes an assessment of each cat’s individual life-style – you should not be left feeling as if their 6-month health check was nothing more than a precursory quick check squeezed into a busy consult session
  • Once we have seen your cat(s), if needed, we can provide a mild calming sedative called gabapentin*, to be given by you 2 hours before our visits. This can be provided in advance and is included in the cost of your plan
  • If you have more than one cat of different ages they can be on different plans
  • Bravecto or Bravecto-Plus is automatically posted out to you along with any wormers required once every 3 months, after the first dose is applied. (Note – the 4 for 3 Bravecto offer is not available on these health plans)
  • If you prefer a different product for flea control, Vet2Cat can arrange postage or delivery, but you will need to request the products yourself directly from Vet2Cat
  • We only vaccinate your cat with what it needs and no more, based on its individual lifestyle and age

* with your consent for its use in an off-label capacity
* we must have seen your cat within 12 months to be able to prescribe this legally

My Cat, which Plan?

As a rough guide:

  • Paws Classic would be ideal for healthy cats up to the age of 7 years old
  • Paws Extra includes the addition of annual blood pressure monitoring – this is recommended for healthy mature cats aged 7 to 10 years of age
  • Paws Premium is designed for senior cats aged 10 years and over, where an annual comprehensive blood and urine screen is included as well as blood pressure checks every 6 months.

The reason for the additional testing as cats age is to identify common diseases of older cats at an early stage – the sooner they are detected the sooner appropriate treatment can commence, the healthier your cat will be for longer!

Common diseases of older cats include:

  • Kidney Disease
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Osteoarthritis

Read more about these diseases in our article Common Conditions of the Older Cat.

Please note, these plans are designed mainly for screening your cat for illness. If a disease is diagnosed, there may be additional tests and check-ups recommended that are not included in the plans.
