Information
We are just in the New Year and for the first time in 5 years we are awarding our Cat of the Month prize to a most deserving staff pet. Toots is Claire's beloved baby, she is 10 years old and loves a good snuggle up in bed.
Sadly, Toots has been diagnosed with high grade alimentary lymphoma - a nasty type of cancer of the gut.
We are heartbroken to hear such sad news, but this does not mean the end just yet. Toots had her first dose of chemotherapy on the 15th Jan up at Optivet Referrals in Havant, and she was super brave with the help of some Bonqat pregabalin.
Claire would like to stress that chemo is not as scary as you might think and is often worth giving it a go to see how your cat copes with it. It doesn't mean you're committed for the long-haul if you feel it is too much for you and your cat.
Optivet are doing a fantastic job with Toots so far with her chemotherapy, and we would like to thank Chris and all the team from medicine for looking after her so well.
Please keep Toots and Claire in your thoughts whilst she goes through her treatment.
